Belle Delphine's GamerGirl Bath Water, also referred to as Belle Delphine Bath Water, refers to containers of water sold on an online store selling merchandise for Belle Delphine, who claims to have bathed using the water prior to packaging.

History

On July 1st, 2019, Delphine launched BelleDelphineStore,[1] an online store selling Belle Delphine-themed merchandise, including mousepads, posters and "GamerGirl Bath Water."[2] The following day, Delphine posted a photograph to Instagram of herself cosplaying as the Overwatch character D.Va while sitting in a bathtub announcing she would be selling her own bath water on the new online store (shown below).

Online Presence

That day, Twitter user @wsupden tweeted[11] about the bathwater, along with screenshots of the Instagram post and store page (shown below). Within 24 hours, the tweet gained over 5,400 likes and 1,600 retweets. Also on July 2nd, Ebaum's World[7] published an article titled "Living Meme Belle Delphine is Selling Bottles of Her Bathwater for all the Thirsty Boys."




Pyrocynical Video

On July 7th, 2019, YouTuber Pyrocynical uploaded a video titled "trying Belle Delphine's bathwater," in which he presents a container of the water and drinks it on camera (shown below). Within 24 hours, the video accumulated upwards of 1.4 million views and 19,500 comments.



Herpes Hoax

The same day, the Twitter account @BakeRises,[3] posting under the name Daily Mail U$ ❼, tweeted a picture of Delphine holding a container of the water along with the message "Over 50 People Have Reportedly Contracted Herpes After Drinking Instagram Star, Belle Delphine's Bath Water" (shown below). Within 24 hours, the tweet received upwards of 34,700 likes and 12,100 retweets.

Over the next 24 hours, several memes referencing the hoax reached the frontpage of /r/dankmemes,[4][5][6] including a Lisa Simpson Presentation edit, a Thanos edit and a South Park edit (shown below).

On July 8th, a fake version of Delphine's site was launched at BelleDelphine.club,[8] featuring a store page for GamerGirl Pee (shown below).

Shortly after, screenshots of the page circulated online, with many presenting the hoax as if it were actually being sold by Delphine, including posts on /r/Cringetopia[10] and /r/ShitPostCrusaders[9] (shown below).
