About
"Are you gonna bang doe?" is a saying that can be used as a response to any statement, mainly centred around points regarding people.
E.g:
"I just went to my friend's house you know…"
"Yeah, but are you gonna bang doe?"
It could also be used in a joke (see 'Variants'):
Forever alone, but are you gonna go solo?
Origin
The phrase was made by the song titled Are you gonna Bang? by Funky Dee. The song appeared to the community as a joke at most times, due to the silly nature and occasionally immaturity from the viewers, as the phrase essentially means "Are you going to have sex?"
Also, many dislike the song, as the music sounded much like it didn't suit any typical situation.
Spread
The phrase had been used on sites such as facebook and youtube typically, and usually correctly used in cases where someone had posted a normal statement, even if the phrase didn't go with it.
Facebook pages had been created for it.
Variants
After a while, the phrase was used as a pun, in various different ways, such as:
you want chicken but are you ganna nando?
writing an essay, but have you done a plan doe?
you play guitar, but are you gonna banjo?
kissed a girl but are you sure it wasnt your nan doe?
You say Go Pikachu! But are you gonna yu-gi-oh?
you like fanta but are you gunna tango?
(Quotes preserved, There are many more.)[1]
It is likely that this meme could be criticised as being only known to one group, although the phrase has been known to more of an entire country, as from what I've seen, this phrase is known and used by many people living in the United Kingdom.
