"Blows Up Pancakes With Mind" refers to short videos, usually posted to TikTok, depicting a character blowing another character's pancakes up "with mind". The videos may contain different settings, characters and styles, but the scenario stays the same: The first character is pouring syrup on their pancakes, a second character is shown, typically concentrating or smug, while the catchphrase "blows up pancakes with mind" is heard. The first character exclaims "ma fuckin pancakes," and the pancakes explode.

Origin

The first known instance of this meme is a TikTok video by a user named goovma, uploaded on August 13th, 2022. It contains a photo of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson behind a tower of pancakes, from The Rock's Pancakes meme. In the video, Dwayne Johnson is said to be pouring syrup on his pancakes, while a man touching a finger to his forehead says he will blow them up. The video then cuts to an animation depicting a police car hitting another car, instead of an explosion typical of this meme. The video has received over 102K likes.

As of April 26th, 2023, there are 8,200 "videos on TikTok using the same sound as the original.^[1]

The first known instance of this meme on YouTube with the title "*blow up pancake w mind*" was uploaded on August 16th, 2022 by user Gwen Wilson (shown below, left). Since then, "many more videos have been uploaded, including a repost of the TikTok original by username "System" (shown below, right).

The video series did inspire some image memes. The earliest-known instance can be traced to August 31st, 2022. On the Doors wiki^[2] on Fandom.com, user SorbetOo00oONo1 posted a series of drawings in reference to the meme format, using characters from the video game Doors.
