Blue Shirt Guy Dance, also known as Assumptions Dance Trend or Blue Shirt Guy Dancing Salsa Video, refers to a viral video and caption meme of Russian dancer Руслан Айдаев (@aidaev_ruslan) doing a samba class session in front of a group of students while wearing a blue shirt and grey pants. The video was reposted on TikTok in September 2022, accompanied by GAEL STONE's "Left & Right" song, but only gained noticeable attention and memetic usage in early February 2025 as an exploitable meme, as well as inspiring others to replicate the blue shirt guy's dance moves.

Origin

On April 29th, 2021, Russian dancer @aidaev_ruslan^[1] organized the "Latin World Camp" with his dancing company Starlight DC, doing special samba and salsa teaching sessions for teens and adult students.

On September 30th, 2022, a particular moment of the samba class was reposted and shared by TikToker^[2] @simbi33, who added GAEL STONE's "Left & Right" song to accompany the video (seen below). The clip amassed over 22 million plays and 1.3 million likes in three years.

On May 5th, 2025, TikTok^[4] user @unclelinkster2 posted a video parodying the blue shirt guy's dance moves (seen below), which garnered 711,000 plays and 130,000 likes in a day.
