About

Broken Finger Gun Video refers to a glitched clip of a man releasing a trigger that was uploaded to X / Twitter in early June 2024, which fails to upload for the viewer. Because of the peculiarity causing viewers to make multiple attempts to watch the video and driving up its engagement, the clip was promoted on X / Twitter, which caused annoyance over its popularity. The full clip comes from a music video for "Once Upon a Time," a song from a 2022 Indian action film Vikram.

Origin

On June 5th, 2024, X[1] user @Rockyy_420 uploaded a six-second video that starts with a frame of a hand releasing a trigger and fails to upload further, set to the song "Once Upon A Time" by Indian composer Anirudh Ravichander. While the post (shown below), which celebrated two years since the premiere of the Indian action film Vikram, only garnered 380 reposts and 1,100 likes in one month, the glitched video accumulated over 28.7 million views in the same period.
