AI Baby Holding Laugh, also known as Baby Covering Mouth, Niche Baby, Baby With Motion, Son Baby, Tuff Baby, AI Baby Laughing or Say You Swear Baby, refers to a video edit of a baby rotoscoped, seemingly with an AI Video tool, onto an adult man performing gestures like covering its mouth, as if covering a smile or laugh, to express shock or excitement. The original video, before the rotoscoping, was sourced from Chinese social media, coming from the short-form video influencer Xiucai ("秀才"), showing him lip dubbing the song "Sweet Love" by Chen Yujian & Wang Yuxin ("甜蜜愛情" by 陈玉建 & 王语心). Covering his mouth to hold a laugh was one of his signature moves.

In November 2025, the baby image, created by artist Dallas Rayburn, was rotoscoped onto the lip dub video, first surfacing on Instagram Reels from user @daily_upl. Then, a popular edit of the video added the underground rap song "130 backpack supreme backpack" by jujuvr. The AI Baby meme then spread to Twitter / X and TikTok in the following weeks, both in video caption memes and as a reaction GIF or video.

On November 6th, 2025, Instagram^[1] user @daily_upl shared a video of a baby rotoscoped onto an adult, seen lip dubbing the Chinese song "Sweet Love" by Chen Yujian & Wang Yuxin ("甜蜜愛情" by 陈玉建 & 王语心).^[2] Over 11 days, the video received over 250,100 likes.

Notably, the baby is seen casually approaching the camera and then, before singing, is seen putting its hand in front of its mouth, covering a smile or laugh.

The original video, before the rotoscoping, was posted by Chinese social media influencer Xiucai ("秀才") at some point in 2023. Currently, its earliest known upload was on July 17th, 2025, reposted by Douyin^[3] user @小卿, receiving over 12,100 likes in four months.

Xiucai amassed backlash in May 2023, when he was accused of defrauding a 62-year-old female fan out of 520,000 yuan, according to Jimu News.^[4] He was also banned on social media following the incident.

The image of the baby that was rotoscoped onto the video was created by artist Dallas Rayburn, who first shared it on his Instagram,^[13] @dallas.psd, on February 7th, 2022, as part of a photo slideshow that received over 4,000 likes in three years. Rayburn also shared the image on his ArtStation^[14] account in May 2022, where it was titled, "Droool."

In the following days in November 2025, Instagram^[5] user @daily_upl shared more videos with the baby character, with some of them using AI video tools.

On November 10th, 2025, Instagram^[6] user @gazevfx shared a video edit that spliced the original AI Baby Holding Laugh video, setting it to the underground rap song "130 backpack supreme backpack" by jujuvr, produced by xaviersobased and 22juggn.^[7] In a week, the video earned over 372,300 likes.

On November 11th, Instagram^[8] user @rulaaclip reposted the abovementioned edit, gaining over 250,900 likes in six days.

On November 13th, 2025, X^[9] user @imtakingmy15 also reposted @gazevfx's edit, gaining over 11,000 likes in four days.

On November 12th, TikToker^[10] @babyboykevv posted @gazevfx's edit with a caption, reading, "How babies be posted up at 3 am when their parents are tryna sleep," gaining over 13,200 likes in five days.

On November 13th, 2025, TikToker^[11] @cianapatron shared a video caption meme using the AI Baby edit, pairing it with the Pull Up Stuntin' sound and a caption joking about beating other sperm cells in the subject's sperm race at conception. Over four days, the video gained over 75,300 likes.

On November 15th, X^[12] user @blephin_ tweeted a screenshot of an iPhone's camera roll containing multiple screenshots from the AI Baby video. Over two days, the tweet received over 6,400 likes.
