Buckle Up Dance is a viral TikTok dance in which users mime buckling up a car seat on a downbeat of the song "Rodeo" by Lil Nas X and Cardi B. The dance, which started in August of 2019 encouraged TikTok users to created more car related dances.
Origin
On August 9th, 2019, TikTok user @seanthegod101 uploaded a video in which he shows off three new dances including the buckle up (shown below). The video gained over 374,100 likes and 30,100 retweets in five days.

Spread
On August 11th, 2019, many TikTok users began repeating the dance. @jeyjeygardi gained over 571,000 likes in three days for repeating the dance (shown below, left). The next day, TikTok user @maccurry uploaded a video introducing a car related dance due to the buckle up and gained over 542,400 likes in two days (shown below, center). On August 13th, @gabby_murrayy like many others made variations relating to the buckle up (shown below, right). The video gained over 317,200 likes in a day.
