About

Can I Get A Hoya and the Hoyeah Challenge refers to a viral Vine video where a kid says "can I get a hoya?" (pronounced like "oh yeah") followed by another kid jumping down a flight of stairs, then saying "hoya." The video went viral and inspired a call-and-response internet challenge where people shout the phrase in public and see if they can get a response. The trend was adopted by TikTokers as early as 2019 and saw a resurgence in mid-2021.

Origin
