Cereal Guy Replaced refers to discussions about the Rage Comic meme and character Cereal Guy being replaced by a different version with more pronounced eyeballs and other variations, who appears to be sucking in his cereal instead of spitting it out and is missing the three line markings denoting surprise around his face. The "fake" Cereal Guy was first pointed out by X / Twitter user @Sir_Fluffs_, who called him an "agent of satan roaming around" and taking the original Cereal Guy's place. The fake Cereal Guy seemingly originates from a GIF showing him sucking his cereal back into his mouth.

Background

The original "Cereal Guy" comic was posted by graphic designer Bob Averill (aka Lego_Robot) on the Something Awful forums in 2007. The comic was later developed into a version showing the Cereal Guy spitting out his cereal after hearing something shocking in a second panel of the meme.

On September 21st, 2024, Twitter^[1] (now X) user @Sir_Fluffs_ quoted a Cereal Guy comic, writing, "unrelated but cereal guy will always be an enigma to me because there’s the original and then there’s this agent of satan roaming around taking his place." The post gathered over 37,000 likes in two days.

On September 22nd, X^[2] user @Rezuaq responded to the aforementioned post, writing, "it's a still from this gif, mystery solved everyone," adding a GIF showing the Cereal Guy spitting out his meal in motion.

Also on September 22nd, 2024, X^[3] user @lunaswagmoney quoted @Sir_Fluffs_'s post with a Soldier of Christ Why Art Thou Hidden meme featuring both versions of the Cereal Guy, gathering over 57,000 likes in a day.
