Christian Bale's Dick Cheney Bod refers to a series of image macros, photoshops, jokes and references to Christian Bale's appearance as Dick Cheney in the biopic The Backseat.

Origin

On November 14th, 2017, the Twitter ^[1] account @LightsCameraPod tweeted a series of pictures of Bale in costume as Dick Cheney in the film The Backseat with the caption "Here are some cursed images of Christian Bale bulking up to play Dick Cheney." The pictures feature the actor with his head shaved and eyebrows dyed and weighing much heavier than usual. The post (shown below) received more than 3,600 retweets and 8,500 retweets in 24 hours.

Over the next day, people began sharing the pictures and adding comments about the weight change. On November 14th, Twitter^[2] user @AlanaMassey tweeted an older picture of Bale next to the new picture with the caption, "Him on Bumble versus him standing outside the bar for your first date." The post (shown below, left) received more than 980 retweets and 4,700 likes in 24 hours. Twitter user @BrettQuinnPhD tweeted, "Christian Bale out here looking like a large shy baby." The tweet (shown below, center) garnered more than 260 retweets and 1,100 likes.

The following day, Twitter^[3] user @padleyr80 tweeted a picture with the caption, "Christian Bale is that bloke in the pub that clears the empty glasses even tho he doesn't work there." The post (shown below, right) received more than 380 retweets and 1,500 likes in less than 12 hours.

On November 14th, Redditor ^[6] posted the picture in the /r/photoshopbattles subreddit, where it received ore that 5,300 points (96% upvoted) and 160 comments (examples below).
