The Clownfaced Feminist Disagrees meme appeared around the middle of March 2024. The meme usually used for jokes about "triggering" feminists and left-wing activists. The meme has been translated into a number of different languages and posted on over 25 websites all over the world.

The first posting of the image was shared from a persons profile onto a tattoo shaming group on Facebook in earlier March 2024. The same month, a Facebook user reposted the image in format of a meme, adding words like "triggered" to the image. Within a week then image had been copied, adapted and shared on over 500 independent links alone, not including views.
Clownfaced Feminist Disagrees was initially shared into multiple Facebook groups and pages and shared on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, then into other websites such as LinkedIn and iFunny and many other international websites. Some of the international posts made mention of cultural appropriation. Throughout all of the reposts the meme's text occasionally changed but all sentiments remained the same as did the background image.

Response/Action

Many tattoo and piercing shaming groups have this image reported and removed, although usually futile as it's often reposted because of obvious reasons. Websites like X, Instagram and iFunny don't seem to take any of the content down.
