New Beach Corona Bottle refers to a beer bottle prototype with a rounded bottom created by Japanese designer Kenji Abe in 2023. The "Bottle For Sticking In Sandy Beaches" was originally created by the artist for use at the beach, with the bottle's rounded and pointed bottom making it easy to stick it into the sand to keep it upright. The prototype has since made several viral reappearances online, often alongside a joke about the bottle being used as a dildo or butt plug and causing a medical emergency that requires a trip to the emergency room or ER. Origin

Japanese designer Kenji Abe^[1] created the "Glass bottle to stand on the beach" in September 2023 as part of the design conference「OCEAN BLINDNESS ーWe Don’t Know the Oceanー」exhibited at Axis Gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo.

In a December 30th, 2023, Instagram^[2] post about the bottle, @kenji_abe_ wrote, "Having a tasty beer or drink on a sandy beach with a view of the sea is one of my favourite times of the day. As there are often no flat areas on the beach, I thought it would be a natural act to stick it directly into the sand and leave it standing. I designed the bottle with a pointed bottom so that it sticks easily into the sand."

The bottle has been reposted online in the years since,^[5][10] seeing a viral resurgence in July 2025, when the X^[3] account @engineers_feed posted an image of Kenji Abe's Corona bottle alongside a caption that read, "Japanese design firm Kenji Abe has designed a glass beer bottle that you can stick into the sand on the beach." The July 19th, 2025, post gathered over 60 million views and 18,000 likes in three days.

Several internet users began posting about the beer bottle being used as a dildo or a buttplug. The parody X^[4] account @Sandford_Police quoted the aforementioned post on July 19th, 2025, writing, "In the UK this will end up stuck in someone's arse." The post gathered over 34,000 likes and became the first viral post about the beach beer bottle causing a medical emergency.

Also on July 19th, 2025, the X^[6] account @BasedRPG tweeted a video of a Roblox character with Ryan Gosling's face slowly turning away from an X-ray showing a bottle in someone's pelvis. The post gathered over 68,000 likes in three days.

On July 20th, X^[7] user @EM_RESUS tweeted a response to Kenji Abe's "Bottle for Sticking in Sandy Beaches," writing, "Hi, ER Doc here. I don’t know who needs to hear this but do NOT even think about it." The post gathered over 500,000 likes and 29 million views in two days.

Also on July 20th, 2025, Redditor /u/altanonacnt made a post about the discussions around the beer bottle on the subreddit /r/ExplainTheJoke^[8] that read, "I don’t get it, is the beer extra strong or something?" The post gathered over 36,000 likes in two days.

The beer bottle was also reposted to the subreddit /r/Radiology^[9] on July 20th with a caption that read, "Oh dear / Be seeing you real soon, buddy!💀"
