Origin

On July 28th, 2018, Twitter ^[1] user @ka92 posted the video of the lizard dancing (shown below). They captioned the video, "Mixamoのオートリグ、面白かったので色々撮ってみた" (translation: "Mixamo Auto Rig, I took a lot of fun"). The post received more than 14,000 retweets and 34,000 likes in less than one year.

On September 3rd, 2018, the Twitter account "@dancinglizardd" launched. The account exclusively features videos of the lizard dancing to different songs (example below).^[2]
