On February 11th 2018, @gullshreik tweeted "i dreamt about a meme where you reply to trolls and people who do bad faith arguments online with no text just a low-res jpg of ketchup and then muting them. part of the meme was the warning "dont make me show you the ketchup" and if they keep it up, you show them the ketchup." The tweet received 6,283 Retweets and 20,492 Likes over the next week. On february 13th, @gullshreik clarified that you HAVE to mute the person after. Continuing to argue after showing the ketchup is pointless. It has since spread to comments on reddit, especially /r/Me_irl, although rarely to trolls. Instead, the ketchup is used as a way of stating how bad something is, similar to Delete This Nephew
