About
EasyJet Backless Seats refers to a series of humurous tweets in response to a picture posted of a woman sitting on a seat on a plane operated by EasyJet, a British airline where there wasn't any back.
The picture has been met with criticism from some but others have openly joked about it comparing the situation to ridiculous actions EasyJet could take in the wake of cutting costs, new ideas and Brexit.
Origin
On a flight from London Luton Airport to Geneva Airport, an easyJet flight had a seat which had no back with a woman sitting on it.
Twitter user Matthew Harris uploaded a photo on the platform asking how something in this situation was allowed (see below)

Spread
After the original tweet was posted, many Twitter users started openly mocking EasyJet and its reputation of flights and mocking up ridiculous situations like sub-economy class seats and other examples on the planes.
Responses to Michael Harris' Photo
In response to the Michael's tweet, Ross, an employee from EasyJet asked him to take the picture down as they were to launch an internal investigation into the matter (see below).
Michael in response, refused to delete the tweet and then added another picture with it describing where the plane was and how long it was until landing (see below).
Twitter users began mocking the tweets by claiming Ross was fired due to the tensions between him and Michael and his absence in subsequent responses.
Come Fly With Me Tweets
Twitter users began comparing the situation to the actions of Precious Little (Matt Lucas) and Omar Baba (David Walliams), fictional characters from British mockumentary series, Come Fly With Me. Precious Little was a coffee shop owner at the airport who deliberately caused things to shut down the cafe to get off work and Omar Baba, the CEO of FlyLo who was known to have bad ideas to cut costs on the airline.
Twitter users also used GIFs of other characters from Come Fly With Me to convey poor situations on EasyJet flights and the situation on the flight from London to Geneva.
ASOS Dress Tweet
In response to Michael Harris' tweets with EasyJet staff, British clothing website ASOS had humoursly responded to EasyJet suggesting having a new uniform upgrade along with the new backless seats.
Hey
easyJet</a> we love your funky new backless seats... possible uniform upgrade to compliment? 😉 <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/EasyJet?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#EasyJet</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BacklessBoarding?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#BacklessBoarding</a> <a href="https://t.co/CGta2PBK4D">pic.twitter.com/CGta2PBK4D</a></p>— ASOS (

Other Tweets
Twitter users also compared the situation to EasyJet's plans in the face of Brexit due to the ever growing threat of a no-deal Brexit which could cause recessions in the country.
Whilst other Twitter users used the situation to mock that EasyJet were testing new ideas such as 'backless seats', 'open top airplanes' and 'sub-economy classes'
