Hypocrisy At Last, also known as Enfim, a Hipocrisia (portuguese for Anyway, the hypocrisy) is a meme represented by the image of Cheems looking thoughtfully at the horizon. The meme went viral on Twitter and soon became popular on other social networks. After wide exposure, several modifications emerged, with edits to the image and even to the phrase itself.

Origin

The first instance of the meme being used can be found on the Meme Economy Subreddit, where it was posted by a now deleted Redditor^[1]. The meme received a paltry 20 upvotes in two years (shown below), but featured the English version of the meme, which was much less circulated as it's Spanish and Portuguese variants shortly after.

Spread

The first example of the meme being used in non-English, which when translated says 'The guy is a taxi driver and lives in Uberland… Anyway, the hypocrisy' was first uploaded to iFunny on July 25th, 2020, by the iFunny user dustin_cross^[2] (shown below).

The meme would later go on to be posted to the Subreddit r/MemeTemplatesOfficial, in which the phrasing was once again changed to say 'what hypocrisy' as the punchline, foregoing the previous iterations and variants, and gaining 3,400 upvotes in two days for the Redditor^[3] Environmental_Dig622 (shown below).
