Eso Me Prende refers to a catchphrase used by Mexican YouTuber El FedeWolf while explaining the Rocky Balboa movie plots. The phrase, which translates to "That turns me on," became popularized as a reaction image online around September 2019.

Origin

On May 26th, 2019, Mexican YouTuber^[1] El FedeWolf uploaded a video titled "Rocky: The Saga in 1 Video," in which he explains the whole plot of the Rocky movies in a comical way. In one moment of the video, the creator says the line in Spanish "Que hombre tan salvaje, tan luchón, eso me prende," which translates as "What a wild man, such a fighter, that turns me on." The video (shown below) garnered 7.6 million views and 308,000 likes in four years.

A still image of the video paired with the text "eso me prende" gained popularity as a reaction image a few months after the video was uploaded on YouTube. For example, on September 12th, 2019, the YouTuber posted a meme on his Facebook^[2] account @soyfedelobo with the caption "When you change your profile picture and your crush notices." The post (shown below) garnered 15,000 likes and 3,300 shares in four years.

On September 21st, 2019, Tenor^[3] user @kevinpolos uploaded a GIF (shown below) version of the meme.

The phrase is featured in memes about being horny. For instance, on March 23rd, 2021, Memedroid^[4] user @Jk68973 posted the "eso me prende" meme (shown below, left) paired with the caption in Spanish "Pain exists, masochists and sadomasochists:" which garnered 125 reactions in two years. Another example, posted on Pinterest^[5] on September 25th, 2020, by user @AbrahamPerez0605, shows a Minecraft oven replacing the YouTuber head and the caption "Me putting charcoal in the oven. The oven:" (Shown below, right)
