Not because I'm disappointed in the game, but because it flopped financially. A whistle-blower announced that the game only sold 500,000 copies the first week and saw 30,000 refunds in a single day, but Bioware countered these claims and announced they sold 1 million copies in the first week. They did not, however, dispute the refunds though. That said, even if we dis-regard the whistle-blowers claims and go with Bioware, the game still had a budget of over 250 million, and If I'm not mistaken, for a game of that scale to expect to make a profit, it would have had to see at least 2-3 million copies without any refunds by the end of the first week. It could still profit down the line but not very much. This means that while there may be mostly positive reviews and it seems like Veilguard did well from a review standpoint, it did not however do well from a financial standpoint and hemorrhaged money. Bioware executives weren't optimistic prior to launch, and they didn't want to plan any DLC until they saw how it sold. This means that if more people don't buy the game or give it another chance, we will never see DLC and we also may never see another Dragon Age. It's a scary thought but after Anthem flopped prior to Veilgaurd, Bioware's in a rough spot financially. Especially after losing the majority of their staff members that worked on Mass Effect and the prior Dragon Age games because of Anthem. I personally would really like Bioware to hang around and make another Dragon Age game after this but only time will tell. Mass Effect Legendary Edition did well though after Anthem so it gives Bioware some breathing room. Don't mis-interpret them and call them haters because they love dragon age just as much as you, or they wouldn't be upset. We need to come together as Bioware and Dragon Age fans instead of lashing out at each other on Reddit and steam forums. The steam forums are really bad right now, I don't how it was when Starfield launched but it's probably about that bad.

If you look at the weekly top sellers, which is the true revenue rankings, it only reached #3. Black Ops 6 and CS 2 still outperformed it during that week. And black ops 6 came out the week before. The next week DA:V was already down to #14... Space Marine 2 held the #1 spot for 2 weeks in a row and fell to #3 on the 3rd week. https://store.steampowered.com/charts/topsellers/global/2024-10-29 Also keep an eye out for https://store.steampowered.com/charts/bestofyear/BestOf2023 next year, it might not even make Bronze certification considering Bronze games have significantly more reviews.
