The Hangzhou Kitten Killer was a nurse who, in 2006, uploaded a graphic video to crushworld.net of herself killing a kitten with her high heels. Spread through chatrooms and file sharing,^[3] Chinese netizens immediately responded because of its sadistic nature, searching for her identity and personal information using the infamous Human Flesh Search Engine.

Although she was labeled as the "Hanzhou Kitten Killer" because netizens suspected the video originated from Hangzhou, the video was later discovered to have been from the northern Heilongjiang province.^[5]
