Hasan Piker vs. Tectone Feud , also known as HasanAbi and Tectone Controversy, refers to an ongoing, high-profile feud between left-wing political Twitch streamer Hasan "HasanAbi" Piker and video game content creator and streamer Tectone (real name John Robert Robertson) after the streamer suggested in a tweet in early May 2025 that he might've avoided being banned from Twitch if he "loved terrorist more," adding a picture of Hasan in his post. In response to the comment, Hasan resurfaced a claim that Tectone's father (Colonel Michael Robertson) was convicted of multiple counts of sexual harassment while serving in the U.S. military. The public beef between the two streamers became a viral topic on X / Twitter, Reddit and YouTube in May 2025, spawning debates and memes online.

Background

On May 4th, 2025, content creator and streamer John "Tectone" Robertson made a series of tweets on his X^[1] account about fellow streamer Hasan "HasanAbi" Piker, including one suggesting he "wouldn't have gotten banned If I loved terrorist more," adding a screenshot of Hasan's livestream reaction to a Fox News story about him that referenced his controversial statements about the Israel-Hamas conflict and various terrorist organizations.^[9][10] The post (seen below) received roughly 109,000 views and 3,500 likes in three days.

Tectone was banned from Twitch in late April 2025, purportedly for calling streamer Frogan a "fat piece of shit" during a stream.^[11]

A few minutes later, on the same day, Tectone^[2] tweeted about moving his streams from Twitch to YouTube if "this terrorist propaganda isn't punished harshly and immediately" by the livestreaming platform. The tweet (seen below) amassed over 1 million views and 13,000 likes in three days.

HasanAbi's Response

On May 4th, 2025, Twitch streamer HasanAbi then screenshotted Tectone's tweet about leaving Twitch, writing, "Oh no, what will anyone do if the bald pervert leaves the Twitch platform for good?" The post (seen below) garnered more than 1.5 million views and 30,000 likes in three days.

Tectone's Father Sexual Harassment Charges

On May 5th, 2025, Hasan reacted to claims shared on X that Tectone's father, Colonel Michael Robertson, was accused and found guilty of sexual harassment while serving in the United States Army during his command of the 31st Combat Support Hospital in Afghanistan.^[12][13]

X^[3] user @Awk20000 shared the clip of Hasan reacting to the allegations that day (seen below), amassing over 1 million views and 5,700 likes in two days.

Tectone's Response

Also on May 5th, 2025, Tectone replied to @Awk20000's tweet, writing on X^[4] that Hasan is going after his 75-year-old "cancer ridden dad because of an alleged SH claim from 17 years ago when I was 15 years old to try to paint me as a rapist." The response (seen below) received more than 3 million views and 7,200 likes in two days.

On May 6th, 2025, the X^[7] page @Dexertonox shared a clip from Tectone's livestream in which he appears emotional after his father's 14 military convictions resurfaced amid the Hasan feud. The post (seen below) received over 3 million views and 17,000 likes in a day.

Online Reactions

As the Hasan vs. Tectone feud gained viral attention on X and YouTube, more information about Tectone's father's sexual harassment accusations surfaced online, including a congressional speech from November 15th, 2011, by Rep. Jack Speier,^[6] who alleged "Colonel Robertson [Tectone's father] was convicted by a military judge of 14 charges including having p----graphy on his government computer; sexually harassing three women, and assaulting five women." The post was shared by X^[5] user @JakedChinatown on May 5th, 2025, gaining more than 1 million views and 6,200 likes in two days.

The feud between the streamers also became a viral topic of debate on Reddit in early May 2025, as Redditor^[8] u/Background-Design-45 posted a screenshot on May 6th of one of Tectone's tweets about Hasan to the /r/Asmongold subreddit. The post (seen below) received more than 2,300 upvotes and 220 comments in a day.
