Failed Russian Roof Jump Car Crash is a viral video of Russian stuntman Evgeny Chebotarev attempting to make a car soar over a gap between two rooftops. Origin

On August 29th, 2023, Russian stuntman Evgeny Chebotarev posted several videos of a failed stunt he attempted to perform to his Instagram account.[1] In the stunt, he attempted to drive a white Lada Niva off a ramp on one building, fly over a gap, and land on an adjacent building. However, Chebotarev gets neither the speed nor height to make the jump, causing him to crash into the face of the adjacent building and plummet to the ground. Chebotarev emerged from the wreckage under his own power.

Also on August 29th, 2023, the video was posted to Reddit's /r/CrazyFuckingVideos[7] by Redditor UKnowImRight, gaining over 240 points in a week. Videos of the incident were shared by media outlets over the following days along with news articles about the stunt.

On August 31st, RT tweeted video footage of the crash, gaining over 90 retweets and 320 likes in one week (shown below). The crash was also covered by The Daily Mail,[2] TMZ,[3] Lad Bible[4] and many others.

On social media, the video began spreading more widely following a September 6th tweet by user @Xaniken, who joked that the stunt's various angles must mean "half the working cameras in Eastern Europe caught this jump." Their tweet gained over 500 retweets and 4,100 likes in two days (shown below).


Many users found the video humorous due to the perceived shoddy preparation for the stunt. On September 7th, Twitter user @corncommunist[5] joked, "Dude had 0 speed and still did a full send," gaining two retweets and nine likes in one day (shown below, left). The same day, user @c0ck_L3snar[6] joked, "Eastern Europe has the world's most beautiful minds," gaining over 120 likes in one day (shown below, right).
