Fighting Gold is a song used in the first opening of the animated adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and is the overall 8th opening song in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure animated series. The song was performed by Coda with composition by Toshiyuki Omori and the lyrics written by Neko Oikawa. The popularity of the song has inspired edits and remixes by fans.

Origin

On October 13th, 2018, The second episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind aired in Japan which also debut the opening song. On the same day, Fighting Gold was released in digital stores with physical copies hitting stores on November 14th, 2018.^[1]

Spread

On October 13th, 2018, the opening was shared on r/stardustcrusaders which gathered 533 points prior to being archived.^[2] After release, the song became the subject of parodies and remixes. On October 21st, 2018, Youtube user
hunter1s1k uploaded a cover of the song which gathered over 293,000 views within 9 months (shown below, left). On November 16th, 2018, Youtube user Pasta Smarku uploaded a video where they translated the lyrics into 23 different languages which is then recited using a text to speech program which gathered over 333.000 views within 9 months (shown below, right).

On December 24th, 2018, Youtube user Djuncle uploaded a video titled "Fighting Gold but Coda has gone completely mad" which gathered over 126.000 views within 7 months (shown below left). Djuncle would continue to make remix videos up until January 22nd, 2019. His most notable video being "Fighting Gold but Coda was kicked in the balls before recording" which was uploaded on January 1st, 2019, and has garnered over 613.000 views within 7 months (shown below, right).
