Furret Walk refers to an animated video of the second-generation Pokémon Furret walking to a rendition of Accumula Town music theme. The video inspired video edits of Furret walking in various locations, as well as similar edits featuring other characters.

Origin

On January 9th, 2019, YouTuber Narpy posted a video of second-generation Pokémon Furret walking to a rendition of the Accumula Town music theme by Soundcloud user Ricora (shown below).^[1][2] The video gained over 1 million views in seven months. A Twitter post of the video gained over 32,000 retweets and 80,000 likes in one month.^[7]

Spread

In the following months, users on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram posted more video edits featuring the Furret's walking animation. On January 26th, YouTube user UnitedBeats posted a one hour edit of the original video which gained over 676,000 views in six months (shown below, left).^[3] On March 18th, 2019, YouTube user Qazxsec posted a 10-hour video of Furret walking in the rain which accumulated over 520,000 views in four months (shown below, right).^[4] In the following months, Qazxsec posted more notable videos of Furret walking.

In addition to videos featuring Furret, similarly executed videos with other characters were also posted. For example, on May 12th, 2019, Narpy posted a video of a white cat edited in a similar way (shown below, left).^[5] On June 25th, 2019, Instagram user chanbanhi posted a video of a dog dragging its behind inspired the video.^[6]
