About
Go And Get Your Jacket, It's Time refers to a line said by First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon in the introductory video for "Yes.Scot", a new campaign devoting to increase support for the cause of Scottish independence.
In response to the video being published, a series of reaction pictures and tweets have been made.
Origin
On April 24th, 2019, First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon updated the Scottish Parliament on the state of a second Scottish independence referendum. In the statement, she said that she would be seeking another referendum before May 2021 – before the end of the 5th Scottish Parliament.
In response to the announcement, the Scottish National Party (SNP) launched a new campaign called Yes.Scot with the aim of campaigning for a positive case for Scottish independence.
A new video was released which introduced the campaign. In the video, a young man is going around his morning routine before getting a knock on the door by Nicola Sturgeon who says to him "Get your jacket on, it's time."
🏴 Westminster isn’t working for Scotland. We’ve been ignored too often. It’s time for a fresh start – to choose a different and better path.
