Guy Tortured With a Cactus Ad refers to a viral mobile game ad where two men press the third against the cactus crotch-first and grind him against it before kicking him off-screen. The clip went viral online in April 2024 and has been used as a video caption format.
Origin
On March 30th, 2024, Redditor SeaAd2626 posted a clip of a bizarre ad for the mobile game Rise of Castles: Ice and Fire to the /r/shittymobilegameads[1] subreddit. In the ad, two men grind the third crotch-first against a large cactus, kicking him of screen as he holds onto his crotch in pain. The man lands onto a pile of gold, and ad continues into simulated city building gameplay. The post gained over 370 upvotes in the subreddit in one month.

On April 1st, 2024, X[2] / Twitter user @slayzilla posted the opening clip from the ad, with the video garnering over 18.9 million views, 11,000 reposts and 60,000 likes in three weeks (shown below).

The X post was followed by caption memes based on the video. For example, on April 2nd, 2024, X[3] user @BreezyxSupreme quoted the post, writing, "This what y’all needa do to some of y’all weird ass homeboys that be trying to talk to minors." The quote post garnered over 7,200 reposts and 44,000 likes in three weeks (shown below).
