In mid 2010 spammers on 4chan's infamous /b/ board began to spam gay pornography. In response one anonymous poster made his own thread with a picture of Bugs Bunny and the text "help mods ther eis an asshole on ftrongpage".
So began one of /b/'s most recent memes.
