Origin

On June 27th, 2024, a video began circulating online in which a female prison guard is filmed, presumably by an inmate, having sex with another inmate while behind bars in his cell. The earliest known account to post the clip is X^[1] user @Young_Spray, writing, "FUCK IT THIS IS TOO EPIC…🫡🚿," garnering over 6,300 likes in a day (censored screenshots shown below). The guard's face is fully visible in the video and she is wearing a uniform. It is unclear if this is the true original upload of the video, or where it was first posted.

During the recording, the prisoner filming says, "This is how we roll in Wandsworth," suggesting the video was taken at HMP Wandsworth prison in London, England.

The video gained viral spread on social media over the following days, also inspiring reactions. On June 28th, 2024, X^[2] user @Tgarratt10 posted, "That prison guard video is one of the craziest things I’ve seen online. Happily showing her badge number and face on camera, with a wedding ring on ffs 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️," garnering over 48,000 likes in under a day (shown below).

On June 28th, the Daily Mail^[3] reported that police launched a probe into the video. According to the article, the footage was purportedly taken at HMP Wandsworth prison in London, England, a Category A jail.

That same day, X^[4] user @echetus posted screenshots of the video, writing, "In a very '14 Years of a Conservative Government' Moment, circulating online today is an explicit video of a prison guard getting, uh, screwed by an inmate," garnering over 890 likes in under 24 hours (shown below).

Arrest & Further Details

On June 29th, 2024, The Guardian^[5] reported that a woman was arrested in relation to the video on charges of misconduct in public office. She was identified as 30-year-old Linda De Sousa Abreu.

On July 1st, BBC^[6] reported on De Sousa Abreu's court appearance at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, where she confirmed her identity. According to the report, she was detained at the airport. Sousa Abreu was released on conditional bail, with a court date set for July 29th, 2024 (courtroom sketch of De Sousa Abreu shown below).

On July 2nd, the Daily Mail^[7] reported that, allegedly, the inmate, Linton Weirich, that De Sousa Abreu was seen having sex with in the video was in prison for stealing £65,000 and that his pregnant girlfriend was hospitalized over stress related to the release of the video. A source close to Weirich's partner told Daily Mail that she is worried about pre-mature labor.

Sentencing

On January 6th, 2025, it was reported that Linda De Sousa Abreu was sentenced to 15 months of prison time for the incident.^[8]
