I am the Lizard Queen is a phrase typically used when depicting characters in an eccentric style, or an insane state of mind.
Origins
The phrase can be traced back to the musical poetry piece "Celebration of the Lizard" by Jim Morrison, recorded 21st July 1969, and released in 1970, the lyrics of which contain the phrase "I am the lizard king".
However, the phrase "I am the Lizard Queen" was popularised by the The Simpsons episode "Selma's Choice", aired on 21st January 1993, in a scene where, while experiencing hallucinations as a result of drinking "water" in the Little Land of Duff ride, she is discovered swimming naked in the Fermentarium, and is returned to Selma while wrapped in a towel, during which she exclaims "I am the Lizard Queen".
