About

I Know You're Angry That The SNP Keep Winning Elections is a phrase which is associated with a letter written by Scottish Conservative Party MSP Annie Wells.

The letter had went viral after it had been branded "comedic" and "laughable" as it targeted poorly towards the Scottish National Party (SNP) with Annie Wells telling Scottish Conservative supporters that they know they are annoyed at the fact that the SNP keep winning elections and that Scottish people can't stop voting for them despite also saying Scottish people hate them and that Scotland can be taken back by the SNP

Origin

On February 23rd, 2020, Annie Wells had released a public letter onto Twitter which came out only days after the party elected Jackson Carlaw as their new leader.

Reaction

After the letter was published, it received 1,059 likes and 1,334 replies with 364 retweets. Some of the replies poked fun at the logic that the letter was trying to play down the Scottish Conservative's expectations when it comes to elections with some noting that they have never won an election in 65 years.

Scottish politicians also reacted to the letter with Stirling MP Alyn Smith praising the letter due to it conceding that the SNP 'keep winning elections'.[1]

Liam Kirkcaldy, a journalist from Holyrood Magazine had wrote a sketch parody in response to the letter mocking the response Annie gave in the letter.[2]
