If You Ain't Crocing and Socking You Ain't Rocking or If You Aren't Crocing and Socking, Are You Really Rocking? is a catchphrase originating from a viral video of a young girl walking down the road wearing Crocs and socks while saying the phrase. The video was uploaded to TikTok in June 2021 and became the subject of interest in August 2022 after another TikToker posted a video referencing the original, inspiring further videos using the phrase and spread to Twitter.

Origin

On June 28th, 2021, TikToker[1] @heyelliamfamily posted a video of a young girl walking down the sidewalk wearing a pair of Crocs shoes. She says, "If you ain't Crocing and socking you ain't rocking." The video gained over 3.6 million views in a year (shown below).

On August 11th, 2022, TikToker[2] @lauren_or_ren posted a video filming herself walking in Crocs and socks where she describes seeing the video by @heyelliamfamily and thinking about the phrase every time she puts on her Crocs with socks, garnering over 12.3 million views in six days (shown below, left). On August 14th, the TikToker[3] reposted the original video announcing she'd rediscovered it, garnering over 700,000 views in three days (shown below, right).

The video by @lauren_or_ren inspired an increase in videos using the phrase and original sound from the original video by @heyelliamfamily. For example, on August 14th, TikToker[4] @user4742156789975 posted a video using the phrase, garnering over 55,000 views in three days (shown below, left). On August 16th, TikToker[5] @grandadjoe1933 posted a video using the phrase, garnering over 100,000 views in a day (shown below, right). The phrase also began to appear on Twitter.[6][7]
