About

Donald Trump AI Jesus Meme is an AI-generated artwork and meme shared by U.S. President Donald Trump depicting Trump as Jesus Christ healing a sick man lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by praying Americans. Trump made the post on his Truth Social account on April 12th, 2026, and deleted it following significant backlash, mainly from Christians, some of whom saw the meme as blasphemous for its depiction of Trump as Jesus.

President Trump responded to the backlash by claiming that he thought the meme depicted him as a doctor. Later, it was reported that the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Bill Pulte, originally showed the meme to Trump before he posted it, however, another party close to Trump denied that Pulte gave him the meme. The meme was posted amid Trump's criticism of Pope Leo XIV, a vocal critic of the U.S. and Israel's presence in the war with Iran.

Background

Donald Trump's Criticism Of Pope Leo XIV

In mid-April 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump began criticizing Pope Leo XIV for his criticism of Trump regarding America and Israel's actions against Iran.

On the night of April 12th, 2026, hours before posting the "AI Jesus" meme, Trump made a post on Truth Social[1] criticizing the Pope. It is believed by some that Trump's criticism of the Pope could be what inspired him to post the meme.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy. He talks about "fear" of the Trump Administration, but doesn't mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church, and all other Christian Organizations, had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers, and everybody else, for holding Church Services, even when going outside, and being ten and even twenty feet apart. I like his brother Louis much better than I like him, because Louis is all MAGA. He gets it, and Leo doesn't! I don't want a Pope who thinks it's OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon. I don't want a Pope who thinks it's terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our country. And I don't want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I'm doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do, setting Record Low Numbers in Crime, and creating the Greatest Stock Market in History. Leo should be thankful because, as everyone knows, he was a shocking surprise. He wasn't on any list to be Pope, and was only put there by the Church because he was an American, and they thought that would be the best way to deal with President Donald J. Trump. If I wasn't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican. Unfortunately, Leo's Weak on Crime, Weak on Nuclear Weapons, does not sit well with me, nor does the fact that he meets with Obama Sympathizers like David Axelrod, a LOSER from the Left, who is one of those who wanted churchgoers and clerics to be arrested. Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician. It's hurting him very badly and, more importantly, it's hurting the Catholic Church! President DONALD J. TRUMP 8.66k ReTruths 32.8k Likes Apr 12, 2026, 9:03 PM

Donald Trump Posts AI Jesus Meme

On April 12th, 2026, Donald Trump posted a meme on Truth Social[2] that depicts him as Jesus Christ healing a sick man, one hand on the man's forehead. The sick man, whose identity has been speculated on but is not confirmed to be anyone in particular, is lying in a hospital bed. Surrounding Trump-Jesus are a woman praying, a nurse and two soldiers. A giant American flag flies as two eagles soar through the sky, accompanied by a fighter jet flying over the Statue of Liberty. A group of angels stands in the clouds.

It is unclear exactly how many interactions the post gained before it was deleted. The post quickly garnered backlash from some Christians, who saw the depiction of Trump as Jesus as blasphemous. Others also accused Trump of being the antichrist, with the Bible warning that the antichrist will appear as a false prophet.[3]

On April 13th, former United States Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene made a post on X[4] / Twitter responding to the meme, writing, "It’s more than blasphemy. It’s an Antichrist spirit," gaining over 38,000 likes and 6,100 reposts in three days
