'I'm going Munch Mode' or #Munchmode! started as a TikTok trend where children and young tweens would begin their lunch by saying the phrase. Often at the same time as patting their belly. They would proceed to then open their mouth as wide as possible and make a comically loud crunch sound.

A juvenile joke but its inherent goofy and unproblematic nature became a source of whimsy to parents and older kids alike. The trend became growing in retaliation to the more common grotesque and problematic memes that had surfaced around this time.

The wholesome nature of 'munchmode' is a teachable lesson in how comedy doesn't always need to be crude.
