Insult Gnome is a fad that appeared within a Facebook friend group, but slowly grew popular in the fable community. Within the game Fable 3, a side quest was to find and kill 50 gnomes around all of Albion. Their location is given away as they insult you.
The fad started when one person made an 'Advice gnome' blank base, to which friends then captioned it with one of the quotes which was already in the game, but slowly others began to use their own insults, or put something related to the game on it. Others even started to cross it other with other memes.
The fad is more then likely forced, but it's pretty darn funny.
