About
"HABEEB IT" is a nonsensical phrase uttered on 4chan in reference to an exploitable dialogue scene from the 2004 gay erotica comic My Wild & Raunchy Son. Since its initial appearance on the imageboard site in a custom-captioned parody based on the comic, the phrase "habeeb it" has been used as a comical retort to a poster's reaction of disbelief (i.e. "I don't believe it").
Origin
The original exploitable image stems from the second chapter of My Wild & Raunchy Son[1], an incest-themed gay erotica comic illustrated by artist Josman and published online in 2004.[2] In the comic, which entails a taboo relationship between a man and his son, the two characters get into a heated verbal argument, during which the son punches his father in the face, shortly before they make passionate love in reconciliation (shown below).
The details regarding the first appearance of the comic on 4chan and its usage as an exploitable image remain murky at large; however, it is believed to have made its way onto the /b/ (random) board sometime in October 2005, during which many users created and shared a slew of photoshopped parodies bearing custom captions. Among them were an exceptionally nonsensical version captioned with puzzling expressions like "habeeb it" and "twinkie house," which quickly became known as the most notable instance in the series (shown below).
Spread
On October 22nd, 2005, the earliest known tribute to the phrase outside of 4chan was uploaded to YTMND in a page titled "HABEEB IT."[4] On June 1st, 2006, Urban Dictionary user Felyza submitted a definition of the phrase "twinkie house," followed by Urban Dictionary user Jimmy's definition of "habeeb it" submitted on July 31st. On May 24th, 2007, Lurkmore user Moot created a stub article for "HABEEB IT," giving further boost to the memetic status of the phrase.
Usage on 4chan
While the ironic appreciation for the comic didn't spread far beyond the confines of 4chan's /b/ (random) board and YTMND, presumably due to the fringe nature of its subject matter, the nonsensical captions from the parody certainly had a lasting impact on the /b/ community's collective conscious as many continued to use the phrase "itty bitty baby, itty bitty boat" as a sort of a litmus test to set apart "newfags" from "oldfags" on the site, while "habeeb it" was incorporated into the general lexicon of 4chan as a versatile response to any mention of "I don't believe it" or other statements that similarly convey feelings of disbelief.
In part, the increasingly frequent utterance of "habeeb it" in discussions outside of /b/ can be attributed to the fans of the Japanese manga-anime series Naruto, who would often post "believe it!" on the /a/ (anime) board to echo the titular protagonist's catchphrase. In addition, a third quote from the same parody of the comic, "twinkie house," also gained minor notoriety as a jiberish "battle cry to strike confusion and fear into the minds of your opponent" when attacking someone, according to the Urban Dictionary definition.
