Lucia is one of the two protagonists in the upcoming action-adventure video game Grand Theft Auto VI. The first female protagonist in Rockstar's GTA video game series since 1997, Lucia first appeared in the reveal trailer for the game in early December 2023 and became a subject of viral discussions, hornyposting, fan art and other content shortly after.

Origin

On December 4th, 2023, the first trailer for the 2025 action-adventure video game Grand Theft Auto 6 was leaked online and then subsequently released on YouTube.^[1] The trailer introduced the duo of main protagonists, a man named Jason and a Latina woman named Lucia (trailer shown below, left; still image shown below, right). Lucia is notably the first female protagonist in the Grand Theft Auto series since the original 1997 game.

Immediately following the trailer, the character trended on X / Twitter and other social media platforms, with users posting about the character and sharing images from the trailer. For example, on December 4th, 2023, X^[2] user @SynthPotato posted three images of Lucia from the game's trailer and an image of a woman in a bikini suit they presumed to be Lucia. The post (shown below) received over 3,000 reposts and 48,000 likes in one day.

In the hours following the trailer release, Lucia became a major subject of discussions, hornyposting and other content on social media. For example, YouTuber Justin Whang quoted a news post about the character, reporting that his timeline was "unapologetically horny." The post (shown below, left) garnered over 80 reposts and 2,200 likes on X^[3] in one day.

On December 4th, X^[4] user @NavoSchmavo posted a caption meme about switching from the character in the game that garnered over 800 reposts and 11,000 likes in one day (shown below, right).
