About
Mega Épica Huevo or ¡Huevo, Dibu, Huevo! refers to both an hamburger sold by Mostaza, an Argentine fast food chain, and the advert made to promote it.
Mostaza
Mostaza is a fast food chain from Argentina that started in 1998. The chain takes its name from the Spanish version for mustard, a food condiment. It experimented a large expansion since 2011, where they had 50 franchises. In 2018, they had 110 locations. By 2023, they had 180 locations.[1] The recent rise of the popularity of the chain was partly attributed to their association with Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez.[2]
Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez
Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez is the goalkeeper of the Argentine national football team since June 2021. Martínez acquired international relevance due to his performance during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where Argentina won the championship. Martínez was a key player during the final match of the tournament, which was decided with a penalty shoot-out. Martínez became the face of the Mostaza brand in late 2022, with the introduction of the Mega Dibu.[3] This collaboration was elaborated upon with the introduction of the Big Bang Cheddar hamburger in late 2023, and more recently, the Mega Épica Huevo.
Mega Épica Huevo
The Mega Épica Huevo is the latest hamburger presented by Mostaza in collaboration with Martínez. To promote it, they released an advertisement featuring Martínez, and three influencers; Homero Pettinato (son of Roberto Pettinato, former member of Sumo and presenter of Duro de domar), Nati Jota, and Toto Kirzner (son of Adrián Suar, a television producer). The video features the song Tranky Funky by Trueno.[4] Very notably, the whole point of the advert is to make a play on a double entendre, something that some people considered "crass".
