Michael Bublé Emerges from His Cave is an image macro series of an edited image of singer Michael Bublé holding a microphone in front of a cave's entrance and the caption, "Christmas is coming. Michael Bublé emerges from his cave." The meme jokes about the heavy presence of Bublé's music during the holiday season (similar to Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You).

Origin

On November 30th, 2015, Imgur ^[1] user DoctorGrant posted the earliest known version of the meme. The post featured the picture of Bublé coming out of the cave with the caption "Christmas is coming. Michael Bublé emerges from his cave." The post received more than 5,400 views and 1,800 points in less than six years (shown below).

Spread

The following day, Tumblr ^[2] account tastefullyoffensive shared the meme. The post received more than 25,000 notes in less than six years.

Two years later, on September 15th, 2017, an anonymous 9GAG ^[3] user posted an image of Bublé in a tuxedo coming out of the cave and the caption, "Any day now, Michael Buble will emerge from his cave, where he sleeps 9 months of the year, to signify the beginning of the Christmas marketing campaign." The post received more than 5,100 points in less than four years (shown below, left).

Later that year, on December 1st, Redditor ^[4] benjamin_turlte shared a recursive variation of the meme (shown below, center).

Over time, other variations of the meme spread online. For example, variants for other holiday, such as Valentine's Day (example below, right).

On November 9th, 2018, Bublé responded to the memes on the Graham Norton Show. He said, "Do you know how many asshole friends I have that think that I haven’t [seen it] and send me it and go, 'Look at the meme they have!'" The post received more than 430,000 views in less than three years (shown below).
