When the Fajitas Come Out Sizzling is a catchphrase used in a series of memes, including image macros, conveying the feeling of when a person orders fajitas and they come out sizzling hot, often portrayed as a positive thing. Some versions of the meme specifically refer to the distracting nature of the sizzling when a plate of fajitas comes out of the kitchen at a restaurant. Memes about sizzling fajitas first started going viral online in 2018 and became increasingly popularized throughout the 2020s. One of the most viral versions of the meme is by Instagram user Cyrakek and features the caption, "When them fajitas come out sizzlin'," over a low-res image of Link from Good Mythical Morning dancing.

On August 29th, 2018, Redditor u/chainscriptbaby posted a meme to the /r/TooAfraidToAsk^[1] subreddit captioned, "The entire restaurant when somebody order fajitas," showing a woman looking backward from her food at the distracting sizzling noise, garnering over 3,700 upvotes in seven years.

This is the earliest known meme about sizzling fajitas and was created by a social media user named mister_impossible, who posted it on an unknown date.

On May 16th, 2019, Facebook^[2] user George Lopez posted a meme by a now-suspended X user, @CHASEEEZY, captioned, "Me when somebody orders fajitas and them shits come out sizzling," using the SpongeBob SquarePants Fish Turns Around meme to convey a distracted feeling, garnering over 5,600 reactions and 2,600 shares in six years.

On August 8th, 2022, a now-deleted Redditor^[4] posted a version of the meme to the /r/me_irl^[4] subreddit using an image of Alex Jones that gained over 82,000 upvotes in three years.

On December 21st, Redditor u/rockyslash posted a compilation of the meme to the /r/me_irl^[5] subreddit that gained over 700 upvotes in the same span of time.

On January 31st, 2023, iFunny^[6] user GarbageRNG posted a version of the meme that gained over 2,100 smiles in two years.

On January 20th, 2025, X^[7] user @RyanLostinTX posted a version using an image of George Bush at Trump's inauguration that gained over 46,000 likes in nine months.

On July 14th, Instagram^[11] user cyrakek_ posted a version of the meme using an image of YouTuber Link dancing under the caption, "When them fajitas come out sizzlin'," garnering over 60,000 likes in three months. On July 18th, Instagram^[8] user epicjoko reposted it, garnering over 135,000 likes in three months. The image of Link dancing comes from the 2014 Good Mythical Morning video, "How to Dance to Attract Girls."^[13]

On October 4th, X^[9] user @koreybruhyt reposted the meme, writing, "My eyes are red from crying at this image," garnering over 122,000 likes in two days.

On October 5th, 2025, X^[10] user @Blackvev0 quoted-reposted an image of ProJared in a suit, writing, "When you hear the fajitas sizzling," garnering over 51,000 likes in a day.

On October 7th, YouTuber Jacksfilms posted a photo of himself in front of a plate of fajitas to X^[12] captioned, "When the fajitas come out sizzlin," garnering over 27,000 likes in under a day.
