About
Noah Centineo's People's Choice Awards Speech refers to a series of memes based on actor Noah Centineo's acceptance speech at the 2019 People's Choice Awards, which many found confusing.
Origin
On November 10th, 2019, at the People's Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California, actor Noah Centineo accepted the award for Favorite Comedy Movie Star for his role in the film The Perfect Date.[1] During his speech he said:
Thank you everyone at home -- you are the reason I’m on this stage, you are the reason I get to do what I am passionate about. You are the reason that I have a platform that I can help hopefully make the world a bit of a better place. And before I go, I just want to say, it matters not what you’ve done but what you do with what you’ve done for others, thank you.
During the ceremony, the People's Choice Awards official Twitter tweeted an isolated version of the end of the speech. They wrote, "#TheComedyMovieStar @ncentineo, crutches and all, delivered one of his iconic motivational tweets IRL on the #PCAs stage." The post received more than 5.7 million views, 5,400 likes and 475 retweets in less than one week (shown below).
