Casato_Art or Casato is a digital artist known best for their original character Ellie, a schoolgirl with curly black hair often drawn in a short skirt and teasing poses. Casato began posting their art online as early as June 2022 on Instagram and amassed a substantial following by 2025, including over 550 paid Patreon subscribers and 92,000 followers on X / Twitter. Their art has been reposted and edited numerous times online and is sometimes referred to online as "gooner bait."

History

On July 9th, 2022, Casato posted a piece of art to the Instagram^[1] page depicting a woman smoking and slightly lifting a shirt with an anime character printed on it, garnering around 33 likes in three years. This is the earliest known piece of art published online by Casato.

Casato continued to post art over the following years, including on Instagram, YouTube^[2], and starting in February 2025, X^[3] / Twitter under the handle @Casato_art. They also opened a Patreon^[4] account.

On February 21st, 2025, Casato posted their first piece of art to X,^[5] garnering over 27,0000 likes in six months. The art features their OC character Ellie with red hair and horns.

On May 26th, Casato posted a portrait of their OC character Ellie to X,^[6] garnering over 2,500 likes in three months.

On June 3rd, 2025, Casato posted a piece of art to X^[7] featuring Ellie in a suit of armor reaching down from the clouds, writing, "Ellie – don't give up, I'm still with you," garnering over 37,000 likes in two months.

Ellie became the artist's most commonly drawn character over the following months as she continued garnering virality on social media.

For example, on August 3rd, Casato posted a piece of art to X^[8] featuring Ellie at a desk, writing, "She asked if you want to lie on her lap… What do you do?" garnering over 35,000 likes in two weeks.

On August 12th, 2025, Casato posted a piece of art to X^[9] showing Ellie in front of a fan, sweating, writing, "She said it's very hot and she's sweating a lot… – what do you do?" garnering over 31,000 likes in six days.

Online Presence

Casato's art has been the subject of edits, memes and reposts throughout the 2020s.

For instance, on June 3rd, 2025, a piece of art showing Ellie with a spear was reposted to the /r/ImpracticalArmour^[10] subreddit, garnering over 3,500 upvotes in two months.

On August 13th, X^[11] user @kazarinka_art posted a piece of art that many mistook as being Ellie. That day, @Casato_art quoted the post, writing, "Guys, he was my teacher, he came before me," garnering over 44,000 likes in five days.

On August 14th, 2025, Redditor u/Ezzypezra posted a screenshot of a now-unavailable post by X user @Betin159 to the /r/196^[12] subreddit, where they complain about the style of Casato's art, garnering over 9,700 upvotes in four days.
