Kat Von D is an American tattoo artist, model, musician, author, entrepreneur, and television personality. She is best known for her work as a tattoo artist on TLC reality television shows Miami Ink and LA Ink as well as for her cosmetics line.

On February, 1st, 2007, Kat Von D joined YouTube^[2] and has gained over 770,000 subscribers in 12 years. In May 2009, Von D joined Twitter^[1] and has accumulated over 2 million followers in 10 years.

Relationships

Kat Von D has held previous relationships with Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe, West Coast Choppers CEO, Jesse James and electronic musician Joel Thomas Zimmerman who proposed to her on Twitter.^[5]

On February 21st, 2018, Kat Von D^[7] announced on Instagram her Marriage to Rafael Reyes saying "Today, I married my soul’s mate, my mind’s twin, my best friend: @prayers 🖤Juntos en vida y en muerte." The post gained 551,000 likes in a year (shown below).

Jeffree Star Feud

On July 19th, 2016, Kat Von D posted a video to YouTube describing what she had against former close friend Jeffree Star (shown below, left). The video has gained over 9.9 million views in two years. The video reveals that Starr never paid an artist for his companies logo among other ugly accusations. The next day, Jeffree responded in his own video (shown below, right). The video has accumulated over 13 million views in two years. His video addresses everything in Kat Von D's video and explains that Von D had broken a promise to loan Jeffree money to start his brand and that he was now paying the artist what he could not before.

Eye Liner Scam

On February 19th, 2019, Cheyenne Vaughan^[3] posted a photo of a Kat Von D eyeliner catridge out of its casing saying, "Yall I'm about to lose my mind right now Kat von D really been putting a sample size eyeliner into a longer shell tube and selling to my dumb ass for triple the price. I'M ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND RIGHT NOW" (shonw below). The post gained 3,700 likes, 7,200 comments and 6,000 shares in a month.

On Feb 20th, Kat Von D^[4] posted a picture of the catridges to Instagram with the message, "

Before people start losing their minds over a recent post attacking our beloved @katvondbeauty Tattoo Liner, please read:
The cartridges in both full size liners and mini liners are the same -- it’s the amount of product inside each cartridge that is different.
So, for example, the product fill on our full size Tattoo Liner is 0.55 ml, while the product fill for the mini is 0.2 ml – thats over DOUBLE the amount of product!
Any brand who has an eyeliner with similar component on the market will tell you the same thing. You need that much cartridge space for the pigment to flow out. Hope this helps explain any confusion out there!

Nazi and Anti-Vaxxer Controversy

On February 8th, 2008, TMZ^[9] posted a photo of a signed photograph of Kat Von D that reads, "Burn in Hell Jewbag" and her signature encorporates a swastika (shown below).

In June 2018, BuzzFeed^[8] reported that "In a now-deleted Instagram post, the expectant mother said she planned to give birth at home with a midwife rather than with the assistance of a doctor, and revealed she and her husband had 'the intention of raising a vegan child, without vaccinations'."

On March 14th, 2019, Kat Von D posted a video to YouTube entitled, "I am NOT a nazi. I am NOT anti-vaxx." (shown below). The video garner 1.4 million views in a week. The video describes features Von D describing herself as a latina and someone who has changed their mind on the anti-vaxx stance. She said that the photo from 2008 was forged by jealous coworkers.
