GOOD LOSANGELES

Kevin Strahle (known under the pseudonym skippy62able and L.A. Beast) is a professional competitive eater, Vlogger and YouTuber. He is most widely known for his insane eating challenges, as well as spearheading the "Bring Back Crystal Pepsi" movement.

Childhood/Early Life

Kevin was born on January 6, 1984 in Ridgewood, New Jersey. During his childhood, he developed a love for eating, and would regularly accept money from classmates in order to complete food eating challenges. After graduating, Kevin was accepted into the Fordham Rams of Fordham University, New York. In 2008, Kevin moved to Los Angeles, California, to stock shelves for PepsiCo. Two years of service, Kevin quit after an apparent lack of persistence as a salesman.

Internet History

In 2010, Kevin started to make videos while in California. In the first video he was featured in, "Guy Smashes Gallon Milk Challenge in 20 Min," received positive reactions to viewers. Confident, Kevin decided to start his own food-eating challenge channel, going under the username "skippy62able." On August 26, 2010, Kevin posted his first video, "Fatburger XXXXXL King Challenge- Over 3 pounds of burger domination."

After completing the Fatburger XXXXXL King Challenge, Kevin's roommate called him "A Beast" for eating the food so quickly. This led to Kevin giving himself the official nickname of "The L.A. Beast."

Bring Back Crystal Pepsi Campaign

in 2013, L.A. Beast released a video of him consuming (then vomiting) a 20 year old bottle of Crystal Pepsi, a caffeine-free beverage that was only sold from 1992 to 1994. The video instantly went viral, and has more than 12,000,000 views as of 2015.

Following the sudden burst of popularity, Beast occasionally made food challenges involving unopened bottles of Crystal Pepsi.

In April 2015, Beast released "Pepsi Needs To Bring Back Crystal Pepsi," starting the "Bring Back Crystal Pepsi" Movement, a campaign dedicated at bringing back the clear cola. This led to a petition on Change.org, which succeeded with 38,778 signatures by the end of 2015.

On December 8, 2015, PepsiCo. announced that Crystal Pepsi would be re-released as a limited run of 13,000 six-packs, and is scheduled for a consumer re-release in 2016. The following day, a representative arrived at L.A. Beast's home, and delivered two six-packs of Crystal Pepsi, marking the success of the Crystal Pepsi movement.
