NOSTALGIA CR TIC

About

Nostalgia Critic (abbreviated to NC, often known simply as the Critic) is a film review web series and the name of the Internet personality portrayed by comedian Doug Walker. The series launched on YouTube in 2007, but moved to Walker's website, That Guy with the Glasses. Since 2015, episodes – both new and old – have been uploaded to TGWTG's new YouTube channel, Channel Awesome, that has nearly 100,000,000 total views.

Currently, there are more than 300 episodes.

"Hello, I'm the Nostalgia Critic
I remember it so you don't have to."

—Nostalgia Critic

History

The first episode of Nostalgia Critic was about Michael Bay's film Transformers and it was uploaded to YouTube in July 3, 2007. (Shown below.)

In 2008, YouTube had removed several episodes due to copyright infringements, and Doug Walker's channel got suspended. Following this, he moved all his videos to ThatGuywiththeGlasses.com, which has been rebranded as ChannelAwesome.com.

In September 2012, it was announced that Nostalgia Critic would "retire"; however, just a few months later, in January 2013, Doug Walker would upload a short sketch titled "Review Must Go On" (shown below), and it was announced that Nostalgia Critic is back.

Spin-off

In August 2008, a spin-off for Nostalgia Critic, known as Nostalgia Chick, was announced.

I think the biggest flaws that I've seen people say of Doug and my personal observation of him is that he bites more than he can chew, is not as professional and talented as he wishes to be, and that he is somewhat of a doormat.

Basically, he comes off as a well-intentioned boss who wants to make folks happy and do his passions but is semi-competent, is not a strong boss who can stop people pushing him around, and clearly chooses the wrong people to side with (if he does at all since he doesn't like rocking the boat) and makes some rather dumb and selfish choices.

Although Doug is probably not the worst on CA since Mike Michaud seems to be the worst fucking manager I have ever read about so far.

I was prepared for something really bad when seeing this trending just now; thankfully it was just another user being very hyped for the next review and initiating conversation about it on this page.
