The scary monsters have no character because they are VISUAL ALLEGORIES For those of you who actually care about the history of The Wall; the character of Pink is based on Roger Waters's former bandmate and friend, Syd Barrett who left the band after the second album and fell into a deep decline, quitting music entirely and sinking into a deep drug induced depression up until his death in 2006. The Wall also represents suicidal isolationism depression and fascism, the "Bricks' in the wall were traumatic events in Pink's life that lead him to isolate himself: the death of his father in WW1 and having to grow up without a father figure in his life, the isolation and abuse he suffered in a VICTORIAN GRAMMAR SCHOOL(not a f------ high school) where, especially in the 1920's corporal punishment was actually part of disciplinary action, even when I was in high school in 2005 was repeatedly smacked around by teachers if I got things wrong, granted I was in South Africa. Pink's character was also mollycoddled by his overbearing mother which also lead to him being socially maladjusted which eventually lead to his wife cheating on him. This is a terrible critique because it's such a surface level analysis of The Wall, you want to talk about having no substance, being egotistical and self-indulgent where the f--- do you get off making a criticism like that when you made To Boldly Flee which was a 3 and a half hour ego trip that EVERYONE who worked on it universally hated. If you wanted to make a substantive critique of The Wall, here's one for you, how about this album not just the movie but the whole album was made during the worst time in the band's history in terms of their attitudes towards each other, it's no secret that Waters and Gilmour hated each other even before this album and were constantly fighting and bickering as Waters had a stranglehold on Floyd's musical output since Barrett left the band, this lead Richard Wright to develop a cocaine addiction which lead to his firing during the middle of album's production. Waters intended this album to be the band's final output which was eventually changed to The Final Cut after The Wall, Gilmour wanted to continue after The Final Cut which lead Waters to leave the band. The worst you can say about both the album and movie is that it's an acquired taste, but it's one thing to say "it's not for everyone" and it's another to completely misunderstand the story and overall message that the album was trying to convey and then completely misrepresent the movie based on that misunderstanding This comment will never reach Doug because he's an egotistical t--- who believes himself above criticism, this is instead for people who actually want to know more about the history behind the album and what the movie is trying to convey. I would've gone into more detail but then l'd be here forever. Oh and one more jab at Doug, Pink Floyd has made rebellious songs long before Another Brick In The Wall pt.2, you would know this if you had listened to more than one Pink Floyd album in your life. Nostalgia Critic's "The Wall" refers to The Nostalgia Critic's review/parody of the Pink Floyd movie "The Wall", which was panned by fans and viewers for its poor quality, unfunny humor, and weak critiques of the film.

Origin

On September 18th, 2019, Channel Awesome uploaded a 40 minute review of the film version of Pink Floyd's The Wall. The video, unlike most Nostalgia Critic videos, is an outright parody of the film instead of a straightforward, humorous critique. The parody co-stars Corey Taylor of Slipknot. It gained over 430,000 views in a week.

User @krycklund[1] tweeted, "I watched remastered, stabilized video of John F Kennedy getting shot with his brains splattering all over the car and the Nostalgia Critic review of The Wall is without a doubt the worst thing i have ever seen" (shown below, left). Want to know Doug's biggest problem? Clipless reviews. What makes a Nostalgia Critic review work is showing clips of a bad movie, so we can see just how fucking bad that movie is…Then he makes a joke about how bad that scene is. Hell, just look at the Aladdin 2019 review, that is a classic Critic styled video right there. No skits, no clipless shit, just him taking a scene of Aladdin being told he's a street rat in the animated film and having a lot of emotion, then taking the scene of him being called a street rat in live action and his reaction just being "That sucks." But when he does a clipless review….well it's quite obvious that he's going to be reshooting the entire movie just from that one sentence.

And here lies the problem. The old reviews worked because he showed us bad movies, and we could agree with him going "Yeah that's bad." But when he does these clipless reviews he can get as biased as humanly possible. He goes out of his way to make a movie look worse than it really is, case in point, his Deadpool 2 review. Hell, Doug finds a way to prove to himself and the audience that the clipless reviews are THE WORST IDEA EVER with….his very first Clipless review! His biggest criticism of Jurassic World was the idea that the dinosaurs looked fake, like the special effects were good, but you could totally tell that they were fake and not in the real world. He has to describe what this is like BECAUSE HE CAN'T SHOW YOU WHAT HE MEANS!

After the whole fiasco from #ChangeTheChannel,I've seen it going back on track with the reviews,some of them were meh,other good.
Then everything went down with this,it felt like watching something self called intellectual full of himself.
It's like watching someone with a shotgun trying to hit the target upclose and still miss it entirely.

This was beyond embarassing,even for someone who became a lolcow like Doug.
