About
Ygona Moura was a Brazilian social media influencer. The 22-year-old transgender woman became known on Instagram and Twitter around March 2020 for posting unfiltered videos about her daily life and fan interactions via Instagram Stories. The creator gained an ironic fandom following on social media, who titled her the "Rainha dos Memes" (English: "Meme Queen"), creating a series of ironic memes, photoshop edited images and other meme formats. In January 2021, she passed away after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
Online History
Ygona Moura's [1] first post on Facebook was posted on February 17th, 2017. The creator shared videos, pictures and opinions on social media regarding her personal life as a trans woman, parties and activities she engaged with friends in Brazil. She joined YouTube[2] on January 19th, 2019, posting a video a few months later introducing 10 facts about her. The post (shown below) garnered 44,000 views and 3,200 likes in four years.
The LGBTQ+ creator gained meme notoriety on September 24th, 2019, when Facebook[3] user @rochelle.mellanye.3 posted a picture of Ygona alongside a man with an ironic caption mocking her appearance. The post (shown below) garnered 3,400 likes and 49,000 shares in four years.
A few days later, on September 26th, Ygona decided to post a video on her Youtube[4] channel titled "Reacting To All My Photo Critics" in response to the viral Facebook post. The video (shown below) shows Ygona reading a few of the transphobic and fatphobic comments she used to receive daily on her social media channels, which garnered 158,000 views and 12,000 likes in four years.
Online Presence
As of March 2020, Ygona received a Twitter account dedicated to sharing clips and memes about her. The first post was uploaded by @ygonamoura[5] on March 23rd, explaining the page's focus was to share "iconic moments from the most controversial gay of all time." The post (shown below) received 10 likes and 1 retweet in three years.
Ygona became popularly known online for disrespecting the lockdown rules during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. On December 29th, 2020, Facebook[6] user shared a video (shown below) of the creator at an illegal party and a snippet of a video in which Ygona says "Guys what night was this? Successful agglomeration night!" The post garnered 1,100 views and 99 likes in two years.
On January 16th, 2021, Ygona Moura was admitted to the hospital[7] after experiencing Covid-19 symptoms. A few days earlier, the creator was mocking via her social media channels the lockdown rules and going to illegal parties. Online, people reacted to the news with ironic memes. For instance, Twitter[8] user @imdeboche posted a video showing Ygona admitting she went to illegal parties and another video of her in a hospital bed. The post (shown below) garnered 11 likes and 3 retweets in two years.

Ygona Moura Death
On January 27th, 2021, Ygona Moura died of Covid-19 after she was hospitalized for about two weeks in the ICU in São Paulo. Twitter meme page @luscas[9] shared a screenshot of a post made by Ygona's mom via the creator's Instagram account. The post (shown below) garnered 16,300 likes and 1,300 retweets in two years.
Years after her death, Ygona's videos and pictures are still used as memes on social media. For example, on December 30th, 2022, Twitter meme page @acervommes[10] used a video of Ygona celebrating New Year's Day and inviting people to illegal parties. The post (shown below) garnered 1,2 million views and 19,500 likes in seven months.

Ygona's Ironic Fandom
As the creator became the subject of memes online, some people started to title themselves Ygona Moura's fans. For instance, on November 11th, 2020, an unknown fan pranked the creator by sending several delivery food orders to her house. The moment was shared by Twitter[11] page @ygonamoura, which received 739 likes and 115 retweets in three years.

On January 27th, 2023, Twitter meme page @acervommes[12] posted a montage of the creator with the caption "Two years without Ygona." The post (shown below) garnered 49,000 likes and 7,600 retweets in six months.
Personal Life
Before her death in January 2021, Ygona had amassed 120,000 followers on Instagram and 468500 followers on Facebook.
