"Put 'er there" is an informal phrase commonly used when making a deal between two parties. Similarly, this phrase can be said when two people shake hands for various reasons. The original phrase was created as such: "Put her there", but the 'h' in her is normally silent, and thus gets dropped from the vernacular.
