Raining Tacos is a popular song by Parry Gripp, which later became a viral music video in 2012. The song and its music video have received numerous fan covers and fan animations that recreate the music video.

Origin

The song was first published as a single by Parry Gripp to Spotify on June 29th, 2012.[1][2] On August 27th, 2012, it was posted to ParryGripp's official YouTube channel as a music video (shown below) with animation by BooneBum.[3] The music video received over 80.8 million views in twelve years.



Spread

On October 9th, 2015, YouTube user SpiritGear[4] posted a music video of the song using characters from Minecraft. The video (shown below, left) received over 7 million views in over eight years. On October 21st, 2017, YouTube user Chaleonn[5] posted a music video of the song using screenshots from Roblox. The video (shown below, right) received over 10.1 million views in over six years.



On June 15th, 2019, YouTube user Mikecrack[6] posted a parody of the song in Spanish that was made into a music video with animation from Katty (kattx). The video (shown below) received over 14 million views in over five years.



On February 15th, 2020, YouTube user Glitch[7] posted a music video of the song which uses autotuned clips from Roblox YouTuber Flamingo. The video (shown below, left) received over 10.1 million views in over four years. On February 26th, 2020, Glitch would post another autotuned music video of the song to YouTube under the YouTube Sings[8] channel, but this time using clips from Minecraft YouTuber Jelly. The video (shown below, right) received over 7.9 million views in over four years.



On October 4th, 2022, YouTube user Unreal Toonz[9] posted a reanimated version of the music video that occasionally adds various popular cartoon and videogame characters. The video (shown below) received over 11.6 million views in over one year.
