Rank It refers to a series of TikTok videos in which the user ranks or lists items within a category to a mashup between the Wii Theme and Earth, Wind and Fire's song "September."

Origin

On September 21st, 2018, YouTuber Mr Rock uploaded "Wii Theme but its September" (shown below). The video gained over 1.6 million views and 146,000 likes in a year.

On June 16th, 2019, TikTok user @KJCProductions uploaded one of the first uses of the "September Wii Edition" track which was uploaded to TikTok by @cyfycube. In the video he introduces a TikTok user "train" to be a train of duets (shown below). The video gained over 58,800 likes in a week. Later in June, videos in which TikTok users rank items began popping up and adopted the soundclip.

Spread

On June 17th, 2019, @caleb.finn uploaded a duet with @KJCPRoductions (shown below, left). The video gained over 600,600 likes and and 24,800 shares in eight days. On June 23rd various videos featuring users ranking and listing items were uploaded.
TikTok user @kevboyperry uploaded a list of the of impossible things (shown below, center). The video gained over 403,800 likes and 15,400 shares in two days. That day, @gagreenb uploaded a ranking which gained over 277,100 likes in two days (shown below, right). "September Wii Edition" uploaded by @cyfycube has been used in over 82,800 videos as of June 25, 2019.
