About
Revive Me Jett is a catchphrase from a viral video posted by YouTuber Zelch Kyli Jhin which shows footage of a Valorant match that is continually punctuated by a player imploring the character Jett to "revive" them. The video became a meme within the Valorant fandom.
Origin
On August 1st, 2020, YouTuber Zelch Kyli Jhin, aka Zelch Quiddle, posted a video of himself playing Valorant, while a player on his team, Lance Arcilla,[1] implores the person playing Jett to revive him over and over. However, Jett doesn't have that ability, and other players try and correct him and tell him Sage is the character who can revive teammates. The video gained over 3.6 million views in 11 months.
Spread
The video quickly became a meme in the Valorant community. On August 2nd, 2020, it was reposted to /r/Valorant,[2] gaining 170 points. On August 29th, Valorant voice actors ArrumieShannon and Afolabi Alli posted a video of themselves reacting to the meme (shown below, left). On December 31st, YouTuber tak3n games posted a compilation of all of _Valorant_'s voice actors saying "Revive me Jett!" (shown below, right).
In February of 2021, Valorant developers released an update that added a "Revive Me Jett" in-game spray Easter Egg. [3] On June 20th, Valorant added a new character, Kay/O, whose ultimate ability, Null/CMD, emits energy pulses around his body. If Kay/O is downed during the command, he can be revived by any teammate. This led YouTuber HowToNoodle to try and get Jett to revive Kay/O in this state, thus fulfilling the "Revive Me Jett" meme (shown below).
