The Girlhood blog[1] was started on or around August 20th, 2023, when the Girlhood Instagram[2] (msgirlhood) and TikTok[3] (@gir1hood) pages made their first posts. The website was founded by 17-year-olds Sophia Rundle and Mia Sugimoto. The About Us page gives further details about the site, reading:

Girlhood is an organization encouraging teenagers to share their stories and find the support they need. Stories can be funny, scary, relatable, or entertaining! We want every girl to know that they belong, and that there are girls all over the world willing to help. Every teenager has a story, and Girlhood gives them a chance to share it.

Features

The website features blog posts written by both blog runners and teen girls from around the world, who can apply and submit their stories either anonymously or with credit. It also features an advice section, which offers tips on common problems a teen girl might face.

Girlhood's TikTok page became notably popular over the course of late August 2023, garnering over 48,000 followers between August 20th and 30th, 2023. The majority of posts are advertisements for the website, highlighting its features and functionality.

On August 28th, the @gir1hood TikTok[4][5] page posted two videos that gained over 114,00 and 3.1 million views in two days (shown below).
